Accommodation on this trip is arranged in Syöte, in Taigalampi log house. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious common room for dining, and relaxing. Additionally, it has its own sauna, three toilets, a dressing room, and a terrace. Taigalampi cabin is located in the Pytkynharju area in the Syöte Hiking area. Taigalampi cabin has 5 twin bedrooms and 3 bunk bedrooms.
You can also choose a local modern hotel for your accommodation, we cooperate with KIDE Hotel in the heart of Iso-Syöte resort.

SNOWY ADVENTURE IN
SYÖTE NATIONAL PARK
Syöte National Park is one of the hidden pearls in Northern Finland. Maybe you have already seen the magnificent snow covered candle trees in social media?
CULTURE AND NATURE EXPERIENCE IN POSIO
South Lapland scenery in Riisitunturi National Park, a visit in a sustainable farm in Anetjärvi and culture rich exhibition in Pentik Cultural Center. Memories from the Country and Old Pottery, as well as the Coffee Cup Museum.
HUSKIES AND REINDEER
These animals are simply lovely! Easy, well-behaving, and half domesticated reindeer and lovely huskies make your holiday unforgettable. Two days husky tour makes you become a real musher!
ITINERARY
1st day, Sat.:
Arrive at Oulu Airport or a bus/railway station, where your guide is waiting for you. Approximately two-hour transport to Syöte, Taigalampi cabin or KIDE Hotel.
Meeting the group and accommodation. Welcoming dinner, short briefing, and introduction the holiday program after dinner. Safety issues and discussion about sustainable tourism and how we put it into practice during our trip.
Hot sauna and sweet dreams surrounded by peaceful and quiet nature.
2nd day, Sun.:
Breakfast in accommodation place. Sandwiches and soup for lunch from the breakfast table. After a nutritious breakfast hiking with snowshoes in the Syöte Hiking area.
This area is very attractive around the year! Unforgettable nature holiday starts with snowshoes to the great white forest and fells! Meet the snow-covered old trees and hear the stories of life in these remote areas in South Lapland. Delicious lunch in a wooden shelter in nature by an open fire.
Snowshoeing back to the starting point, stretching, and relaxing with the instructor. accommodation, sauna, dinner, and a good night's sleep in a silent environment. Walking distance is about 10 km in 5 hours.
3rd day, Mon.:
Early breakfast. Approx. 1,5 hours transport to Riisitunturi National Park and a nice winter hiking trip around the very famous Riisitunturi fell! Sandwich and picnic lunch in nature.
Visit Pentikmäki - a culture and ceramics center. "Pentik is a story of will and skill, an inexhaustible thirst for life, and a fire of art. It’s a story about family, friendship, and the power of working together. It is a story about the nature of Lapland and the longing for beauty. It is the story about the lifestyle."
On the way back to Syöte we make a wonderful stop-by visit to the local sustainable farm. During this trip, you can meet the farmer's family at the coffee and sandwich table. On the yard, we meet their beautiful weatherproof cows, too!
Transport back to the accommodation. Dinner after a hot sauna. There might be also a possibility to see the Northern Lights without any light pollution. Day's hiking distance is approximately 5 km.
4th day, Tue.:
Day begins with a tasty breakfast and continues to the well-maintained cross-country skiing tracks! After a short skiing course, we will take a day tour on tracks from hut to hut in very attractive landscapes! Lunch during the tour and dinner back in the cabin. The day's distance depends on your skills but the maximum is about 15-25 km.
5th day, Wed.:
Breakfast and approx. 15 min. transport to the more remote part of Syöte National Park. A back-country skiing day trip with skin-based skis means skiing in the deep powder snow and sliding down from the hills. Fun!
South Lapland winter forests and lakes are something to be experienced! Our tracks will go in peaceful and quiet areas through snow-white forests up to the hills, along the ridges, and over the frozen lakes and bogs.
During this day trip, you can enjoy the fresh wind and a delicious soup meal around an open landscape. Transport back to the accommodation, sauna, and dinner. Skiing distance is about 10 km in 5 hours.
6th day, Thu.:
After breakfast approx. 45 min. transport to an unforgettable two-days husky sled tour! First, you get detailed and clear instructions on how to be a real musher and control your huskies safely through the winter wonderland. You will be driving your very own husky pack and have a few hours' drive through the beautiful Finnish winter scenery.
Night in the wood-heated wooden wilderness cabin, there are no modern amenities but deep sleep is guaranteed after the active day! A wonderful sauna is an unforgettable experience, before dinner and a good night's sleep in the middle of nowhere.
7th day, Fri.:
The tour continues in the morning after a tasty and nutritious breakfast back to the husky farm. A snack and goodbyes to your husky pack and transfer by car back to Taigalampi cabin.
During the transport to the cabin, we will visit the small village of Taivalkoski and to the old grocery store, Jalavan Kauppa. This lovely store has been there for locals and travelers since 1883 with a wonderful variety of everyday goods, Finnish handmade souvenirs, and cafe services. The store has been, and still is, an important meeting point in the area.
In the evening we will have a great experience meeting the local reindeer! After meeting the reindeer, it is time for a wonderful fairwell dinner in the cabin. A hot sauna is available again for you in the evening.
8th day, Sat.:
After breakfast relaxing in the accommodation or short optional activities in the morning. Snowshoes and skin-based skis are available for you for free for a self-made tour in the surroundings.
Transport to Oulu Airport, or bus/railway station or hotel.
